Summer is running now
and i am starting to panic
my mind is spinning to the end of summer,
right through fall
trudging into winter and out again into spring

summer is glorious and short, and spending time outside in loose clothing is actually an option
which should be pursued as much as possible

so yesterday i ended my evening as a garden gnome in sonja's garden as she planted carrots.
i was sitting with my knees curled up in warm soil with the growing moon in front of me and the silhouette of beautiful spent poppy stems around me.

it is chilly and cool today, verging on rain, though we shall see if we actually receive the blessed't rain.

i planted my raspberries today,
one is domesticated and one is wild;
both are from beartrap

!plant today for tasty treats next year!

and then the cherry on top of the evening
i took a deliciously lovely bicycle ride through the mill creek
and i know for  sure that life is pretty great on a bike with lilacs in your hair.

it is a ukrainian orthodox tradition in spring to remember ancestors and those who have died
with blessings and food (food to give away and food to eat together)
by doing so there is a chance to remember blessings and bless our life and people living now.

it is sooooo cold today
with snow forcasts across the edmonton area
Luckily i can be inside today and i have done my planting on saturday (three kinds of potatoes, four kinds of onions, red russian kale, two kinds of carrots, arugula, turnips, rainbow chard, beets, drunken woman lettuce, radishes, broad beans, and amaranth) when it was sunny, beautiful with a delightful breeze. yahoo!

today was a way a lovely day
i finished digging all the way to the end

oh my belly is already growling for some tasty potatoes
and onions of course!
i have also transplanted some winter onion to my patch of land
and some nettle too!

soon some evening this week i will do the rhubarb~
here AND
in the wilds of the mill creek ravine
